The camera is fully operational. It recently underwent a preventive service including shutter maintenance and general cleaning. We have tested it and confirmed, that everything works as it should.
All shutter speeds work properly.
The built-in selenium light meter works and shows surprisingly identical values with our other same unit, we have several Rolleiflexes (visible in one of the photos, including one in mint condition).
We have sometimes exposed films using this built-in light meter and the black and white negatives come out correctly.
The shutter speed slider works correctly, with a slight due resistance, jumping in increments of one value, without the need for force.
The aperture change slider works as it should, with no play.
The focusing knob goes smoothly, with no play.
The lenses are perfectly in the plane of the film, this was checked during service.
The negatives are sharp where they should be, what is sharp on the matte is also sharp on the film.
The original, clean matte is in very good shape, without scratches or any damage.
The WLF folds and unfolds without any problems.
The mirror is clean and in very good condition, no scratches, discoloration or damage.
The camera does not overlap frames, it makes equal spacing between frames.
The tension works properly.
The inside of the camera is clean.
The film chamber is fully lightproof.
On the technical side, there is nothing to complain about, everything is in working order.
The camera has visible cleaning marks on the photo lens. We tried to show it in one of the photos.
These are subtle scratches on the anti-reflection coatings. In our experience, they have no effect on photographs. Even when shooting against the light, we didn’t notice even a slight decrease in contrast, and I wouldn’t be able to distinguish which photo was taken with which of our two Rolleiflex with Planar 1:3.5 that we own.
The viewfinder lens is in very good condition.
Due to a cosmetic defect in the photo lens, the price is much lower than the market for this model with the prized and beautifully drawing 1:3.5 Zeiss Planar lens.
